My NeighbOR responds in the midst of wildfires
“Blue melted?”
Three-year-old Johnny* is having a hard time understanding where his dinosaurs, Paw Patrol trucks, and favorite Blue’s Clues puppy are. He’s been asking many other tearful questions since the Oregon wildfires drove his foster family out of their home in the middle of the night on Tuesday last week. Their home has been lost, but we are so thankful that this family of five was evacuated safely.
We were able to buy “Johnny” and his one-year-old sister some of their favorite toys, including a brand new “Blue.” Because of your support, we were also able to give the family a high chair, sippy cups and bowls, crib sheets, and a few other much-needed items for mom and dad.
We are committed to supporting every single foster family and biological family who have been impacted by the wildfires and COVID-19. While the wildfires are more controlled, the needs are still ongoing. That’s what our new program My Neighbor is all about!
Here are three ways you can help:
- Provide gift cards to Fred Meyers, Walmart, and Target
- Sign up to be a My Neighbor volunteer: https://everychildoregon.org/myneighbor/
- Donate directly to our emergency response fund: https://everychildoregon.org/donate/
Thank you for showing up to love and support kids and families!
