For the past six years, Foster Parents’ Night Out has worked closely with the Portland-based affiliate of Every Child Oregon, Embrace Oregon. The monthly four-hour respite event—known widely as “FPNO”—began in Salem in 2006, and has now grown to 19 sites across Oregon.

In many counties across Oregon, Every Child and FPNO shared volunteers, served many of the same foster families, worked with many of the same faith communities, and collaborated regularly!

In late 2017, FPNO leaders approached Every Child Oregon about merging the two efforts, and expanding FPNO across the state. After months of conversation and planning, FPNO is now an official initiative of Every Child Oregon!

It’ll take some time to align the nonprofit initiatives, build infrastructure, and add new sites, but Every Child Oregon is committed to supporting foster families cross Oregon through FPNO.

By 2022, Every Child Oregon will have active community engagement efforts in all 36 counties in Oregon; many of which will also have FPNO sites!
