May is the month in which we like to shine a light on the incredible families who open their homes and hearts to children experiencing foster care. Will you help us reach our fundraising goal of $5,000 to help support the purchase of a flower basket for every foster family in Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties. In addition, we will be hosting a family fun day for these families, one event for Linn/Benton and one for Lincoln. All funds raised will go towards flowers and the family fun day events for these incredible families!

We are partnering with our treasured fellow foster care advocates, With Love Oregon, to answer all things "what is fostering like?" with your family. Are you single? Are you retired? Do you have kids and want to know what fostering will be like? Are you wanting to foster but not sure if it will work in your situation? Hear from the experts, foster parents and state certifiers to learn more about what this journey is like and how to get started. No pressure, not expectations. Just a conversation with small bites and wine! Doors open at 5:45pm.

Ever wondered what the journey of becoming a resource parent is like? Are you interested in hearing experienced resource parents share about the joys and heartbreaks of foster care in a no-pressure environment?
Join us for an in-person panel discussion led by our staff and a few local PDX Metro resource (foster) families caring for children. We will have a local ODHS Child Welfare Certifier present to answer questions about the certification process as well.
Dinner will be provided, so please email j.abels@thecontingent.org with any dietary restrictions.
