Curry Tutoring & Enrichment
Every Child Curry is passionate about supporting Resource Families, Families of origin and Kinship Families who are impacted by foster care. We look forward to partnering with your student/s in the Tutoring/Enrichment program!
The Every Child team of leaders is grateful for the community volunteers who serve families through this program. In addition to providing academic support for your child/children in a safe environment, this program will also help provide some built in social enrichment time for the students, as well as respite for parents!
The upcoming session will run from October 12th - November 16th. Students will meet once a week for a two hour period with a tutor and be engaged in fun enrichment activities as a group. The enrichment activity during this session will involve a variety of interests (music, Spanish, art, STEM, baking, etc.).
If your student(s) need transportation from the local school to the tutoring site via bus transportation, the school bus will drop off students at the tutoring site after school.
Once our team receives the registration for this event, families will be emailed an enrollment form that will assist the tutoring team in providing academic support.
Curry Foster Parent Night Out
What is the purpose of Foster Parents' Night Out (FPNO)? Respite. Retention. Relationship. FPNO provides a break for foster (resource) parents one evening a month so they can enjoy some time to care for themselves while trained volunteers care for their children. And, while providing support for foster (resource) parents, these monthly events give children the opportunity to build healthy relationships with other adults who care for them in a safe, nurturing environment.
What will children be doing at FPNO?
• Delicious snacks and dinner. The menus are always kid friendly.
• Games for active play. This can include basketball or other gym activities like obstacle courses or relay games.
• Games for quiet play. This can include Legos, Play Doh, board games, card games, puzzles and bingo.
• Arts and crafts. Kids create a variety of fun and simple projects to take home.
• Special events. This can include things like a music concert, karaoke contest, talent show or special guest
• Reading books. Bring a favorite storybook for a volunteer to read to your child.
• Relationship building. Elementary and older children receive lots of attention and have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with other children and adults
• Nursery aged children enjoy a safe play space with lots of one-on-one attention. Babies are held and cuddled.
